Sri Lanka Tourism and What You Can Enjoy
It has been written in some of the internet portals and websites that Sri Lanka has started on a very ambitious journey in trying to make the Sri Lankan tourism industry the most profitable industry in its history. They are now in the process of trying to attract at the very least around 2,500,000 people to visit their country by the year 2016. With its path almost near the implementation stages of their plans, Sri Lankan travel and tourism authorities are fast trying to target a great amount of Asian visitors, like the Chinese and Japanese to come visit their country in the hopes of giving these visitors a very meaningful holiday and also as a way to attract them to invest and put up businesses in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has certainly a lot more to offer to Asian travelers now than in years past. With this development, Sri Lanka has now become a great place to come and vacation while enjoying an exotic type of travel.
Sri Lanka offers a sundry of scenic views and scapes that everyone will and can take in to enjoy. The main attractions that the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority has focused itself on to preserve, maintain and improve on are basically their natural richness like their beaches, the vast and diverse wildlife that their jungles and forests have to offer, the mountains that they have treated as sacred to them and their historical and ancient monuments that can easily inspire and induce awe in every visitor that comes across these. Tourism and travel visitors will always be a significant contributor to a particular country’s revenues. The good thing about the Sri Lankan government is that they have identified all of Asia as their main target to attract tourism to their country. The main reason for this is that Asia is the most populous continent in the world. Next is that the two most populated countries in the world are found in it, China and India. The third is that India is their next door neighbor to the North. They plan to do their promotional programs for their 2016 implementation by participating in at least a number of global and intercontinental travel engagements and fairs. They also have plans of organizing and arranging tours for at least 200 travel agents and travel journalists from all over the world, not just Asia that will familiarize the agents and journalists about what Sri Lanka has to offer for each type of traveler and vacationer. Authorities have even taken their national Flag Carrier, Sri Lankan Airlines, to promote and carry their promotions to other countries their planes fly to.
Authorities have fearlessly forecast that tourist spending may reach up to two-hundred dollars per person within the decade. This forecast has lead authorities into saying that they will have to improve on the country’s luxury accommodations, shopping and dining establishments so that they will be able to market Sri Lanka as a well rounded tourist destination for the frugal traveler and for those who want to experience some level of grandiosity.
